This Two-Friday Accounting For Non-Accountants Seminar aims to provide non-accounting professionals, business owners, and professional growth seekers with the right theoretical and technical understanding of basic accounting concepts, understand the role of accounting and finance professional in business organizations, and appreciate the  significance of accounting in business operations.

Summary of AFNA Seminar:

1st Friday

1.    Forms of Business Organization. You will be able to distinguish the different kinds of business organizations, whether it is: Sole Proprietorship; Partnership; or Corporation.

2.    Types of Business Operation. You will have basic understanding of different industries where business organizations operate, whether it is: Merchandising; Manufacturing; or Service Industry.

3.    Overview of Basic Accounting. You will be introduced to the world of Accounts, the basic principles of Accounting and best practices of Bookkeeping and Financial Reporting.

4.    Accounting Process/Accounting Cycle. You will be provided with a point-by-point discussion of  different Accounting processes and cycles in regular business operations:  Revenue & Accounts Receivable Cycle; Purchasing, Accounts Payable & Inventory Cycle; and Receipts and Payments Cycles. You will learn firsthand the documentations flow of these cycles, analysis, actual accounting recording, and finalization of Financial Reports.

2^nd Friday

1.    Concepts of Accruals and Deferrals: You will examine in detail the concept of accrual accounting and the theory of deferral, and explain why they are relevant and important to accounting.

2.    Treasury Functions. You will understand basic Petty Cash Fund System and Bank Reconciliation.

3.    Comprehensive Exercises. These will give you an opportunity to apply what you learned during the Seminar. You will experience actual Bookkeeping, Bank Reconciliation exercises, and most importantly, simple Financial Statements preparation.
